Home / Terms & Conditions

These terms set out how Ireland Publishing House provides publishing-related services, how projects are managed, and what clients should understand before using our website or services.

Last updated: April 29, 2026

General Information

Welcome to Ireland Publishing House. These terms and conditions explain the rules for using our website and services. By accessing our website, contacting us, requesting a quote, making a payment, or using our services, you agree to these terms.

Ireland Publishing House provides professional support for authors and organisations, including book publishing, editing, ghostwriting, cover design, formatting, marketing, and distribution assistance.

Use of Our Website

  • You must use our website lawfully and must not attempt to damage, disrupt, copy, scrape, misuse, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
  • You must not submit false, misleading, harmful, infringing, defamatory, or unlawful content through our forms, live chat, email, or upload channels.
  • Website content is provided for general information only and does not create a client relationship until we confirm a service agreement, quote, invoice, or written project arrangement.

Our Services

Our services may include publishing support, editing, proofreading, ghostwriting, book formatting, cover design, ISBN guidance, platform setup, marketing assistance, author branding, and distribution support.

The exact services, deliverables, timelines, revision rounds, and fees for your project will be set out in a written quote, invoice, proposal, email confirmation, or service agreement.

Project Scope, Quotes, and Deliverables

  • A project begins only when we confirm the scope and required payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Any work outside the confirmed scope may require a revised quote, additional fee, or adjusted timeline.
  • Deliverables may include edited manuscripts, formatted files, cover files, platform-ready files, marketing materials, consultation notes, or other agreed outputs.
  • We may rely on the information, files, feedback, and approvals you provide. Delays in receiving these may affect delivery dates.

Client Responsibilities

  • You agree to provide accurate contact, billing, project, and manuscript information.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any text, images, references, permissions, names, claims, or materials you provide are lawful and suitable for use.
  • You confirm that you own or have permission to use and publish all submitted materials.
  • You should keep your own backup copies of manuscripts, images, files, and project materials.
  • You agree to review drafts and proofs carefully before approval, including spelling, facts, names, pricing, contact details, layout, and final publishing files.

Author Rights and Manuscript Ownership

Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, you retain ownership of the copyright in your original manuscript and materials.

By sending materials to us, you grant us a limited licence to use, edit, format, design, adapt, store, and share those materials only as needed to provide the agreed services.

We do not claim ownership of your book simply because we helped edit, design, publish, market, or distribute it. Any transfer of rights would need to be agreed separately in writing.

Website Intellectual Property

The text, design, graphics, layouts, branding, service descriptions, images, and other materials on our website are owned by or licensed to Ireland Publishing House unless stated otherwise.

You may not copy, reproduce, sell, republish, or distribute our website content without written permission, except for normal personal use while browsing the website.

Revisions, Approvals, and Timelines

  • Revision rounds are limited to the number included in your agreed service package, quote, or project confirmation.
  • Additional revisions, major changes of direction, late content changes, or new requirements may require extra fees.
  • Once you approve a manuscript, design, layout, proof, or publishing file, we may treat it as final for that stage of the project.
  • Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly confirmed as fixed deadlines in writing.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by late feedback, missing files, third-party platform review times, payment delays, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Third-Party Platforms and Publishing Rules

Publishing and distribution may involve third-party platforms such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Apple Books, payment providers, retailers, printers, email tools, or advertising platforms.

These platforms are independent from us and may apply their own rules, review processes, technical requirements, fees, royalties, delivery times, and account policies.

  • We cannot guarantee that any third-party platform will accept, keep live, promote, rank, or continue distributing your book.
  • We cannot guarantee royalties, sales volume, bestseller status, search rankings, reviews, media coverage, or advertising results.
  • You are responsible for complying with platform rules and for the accuracy of author, tax, bank, pricing, category, copyright, and account information where it is submitted under your name or account.

Payments, Deposits, and Invoices

  • Prices may vary depending on the service, manuscript length, complexity, deadline, file condition, and project requirements.
  • Payment is required before work begins unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • Deposits, instalments, or milestone payments may be required for larger projects.
  • You are responsible for any bank charges, card charges, currency conversion fees, taxes, or third-party platform fees unless stated otherwise.
  • Failure to make payment on time may pause or cancel work until the account is brought up to date.

Refunds and Cancellations

Because our services involve professional time, planning, creative work, editing, design, publishing preparation, and other customised work, payments are generally non-refundable once work has started.

  • If you cancel before work begins, we may offer a refund after deducting any payment processing fees or administrative costs.
  • If work has started, any refund or partial refund will be assessed at our discretion based on the work already completed, time spent, expenses incurred, and deliverables provided.
  • If we are unable to deliver an agreed service for reasons within our control, we may offer a suitable correction, replacement service, partial refund, or full refund depending on the circumstances.
  • Cancellation requests must be made in writing by email.

Marketing and Results Disclaimer

Marketing services are designed to improve visibility, presentation, launch readiness, and promotional activity. Results depend on many factors outside our control, including genre, reader demand, pricing, reviews, author platform, competition, platform algorithms, advertising budget, and market conditions.

We do not guarantee sales, profit, rankings, reviews, media coverage, bookstore placement, award wins, or any specific commercial outcome.

Confidentiality

We treat manuscripts, unpublished ideas, project files, and private client communications as confidential. We may share them only with staff, contractors, service providers, or platforms where needed to provide the agreed services.

You should tell us in writing if your project requires special confidentiality handling before sending sensitive material.

Privacy and Data Protection

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy. Please review that policy to understand how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ireland Publishing House is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or economic losses, including loss of profit, loss of sales, loss of data, loss of reputation, platform suspension, missed opportunities, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim relating to a service will not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot legally be limited.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ireland Publishing House, its directors, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from materials you provide, your breach of these terms, your infringement of third-party rights, or your unlawful use of our services.

Suspension or Termination

  • We may pause, suspend, or terminate services if you fail to pay, provide unlawful or infringing materials, abuse our staff or systems, breach these terms, or ask us to carry out work we reasonably consider unlawful, misleading, harmful, or unethical.
  • You may end a project by giving written notice, but payments already made may remain non-refundable where work has started or costs have been incurred.
  • Termination does not remove obligations that should reasonably continue, including payment obligations, confidentiality, intellectual property, liability limits, and indemnity.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms, our website, or our services will be subject to the courts of Ireland, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
